Attendance, leave and timesheets

Setting up the people side of the workspace, and who approves what.

Set the ground rules first

The organization's working week and hours decide when check-in reminders go out and which days leave counts. Set them before people start checking in.

  1. Under Settings, Attendance, add office locations and choose whether check-ins are matched against them: off, recorded, or enforced.
  2. Create shifts for anyone whose hours differ from the organization's, and put people on them from a date.
  3. Set up leave types, then import the year's holidays from a spreadsheet and review them before saving.

Day to day

People check in and out, take breaks, and see their day as a timeline. A mistake is fixed by asking for a correction, which a manager approves; the original entry is kept.

Leave is requested against a balance. Yearly allowances are granted automatically, prorated for people who join part way through, and carried forward by your rules.

Time is logged against issues or with a timer, and a timesheet goes to a manager for approval.

Closing the month

A pay period gathers everyone's attendance and leave. Lock it to freeze its totals, export it as CSV for your payroll system, and record that it was handed over. Vorkhurry does not run payroll itself.
